Overview: To begin therapy, an orientation visit is required. All registration activities occur at this first visit, and this includes providing proof of insurance, admission forms, historical information, and so forth. The second visit is when the diagnostic therapist assesses your mental health issues. You will then be assigned to a psychiatrist and/or therapist who will best serve your needs. By the fifth visit, an individual treatment plan (ITP) is developed by the client and staff. With the approval of your insurance carrier and the treatment team, the treatment plan is implemented. Your treatment may be comprised of individual and/or group therapy. Medications may be prescribed in some cases, and medication monitoring appointments with the psychiatrist are scheduled as needed. The time spent in therapy is highly variable. |
